Fruit flavours in food or beverage often consist of the old staples – apple, orange, strawberry. But what about the exciting lychee? These small, pink tropical fruits have a delicious taste and are full of nutrients to boot. With as much vitamin C as a small orange, and with high levels of antioxidants, lychees have developed a healthy and exotic image. New product launches using either real lychee or lychee fruit flavour has boomed over the past several months. With launches in diverse categories including alcoholic drinks, dairy products, candy and more, it’s clear that lychee is trending across the board.
