Quality Toolbox - Audits

Audits are an integral part of our Quality Program.

Our challenge is to provide a seamless quality system from supplier through to the final product.

It starts with our suppliers.

For an ingredient manufacturer to be a supplier to Hawkins Watts New Zealand they must have an auditable food safety program. In the case where an on-site audit is not possible we require new suppliers to complete a comprehensive audit checklist. All suppliers must have a HACCP-based Food Safety Program (FSP) and preference is given to those suppliers who have been audited to the ISO22000 standard or similar.

The Hawkins Watts New Zealand team includes two qualified auditors who regularly audit our suppliers.

Hawkins Watts New Zealand’s HACCP-based Food Safety Programme is audited annually for compliance by AsureQuality.

Based on Asurequality's audited approval of our Food Safety Programme, Hawkins Watts New Zealand has a New Zealand Ministry of Health exemption from the requirements of the Food Hygiene Regulations 1974.

As well as audits from AsureQuality, we also welcome Food Safety Audits from customers. Without exception, every audit results in an incremental improvement in our systems.
