Flavours > What
makes a Flavour Natural, Nature Identical or Artificial?
Natural
flavours and natural
flavour components are preparations
of individual substances that are fit for human consumption
and are obtained exclusively from vegetable or animal raw
materials by means of physical, microbiological or enzymatic
processes. They are fit for human consumption either in
their raw state, or after being processed by means of traditional
food processing methods (including drying, roasting and
fermentation).
Nature Identical flavour
compounds are substances that are isolated from aromatic
raw materials
by means of chemical
methods, or are synthetically produced; they are chemically
identical with substances that occur in natural products
fit for human consumption (either processed or unprocessed).
Artificial flavour compounds consist
of those substances that have thus far not yet been identified
in natural products
intended for human consumption (either processed or unprocessed).
We
hold an extensive range of flavour samples in our flavour
library so please contact
us for a sample.
Please note that minimum order quantities apply to
many of our flavours.
