Flavours
flavour 1 n. mingled sensation of smell and
taste; distinctive taste; indefinable characteristic quality;
slight admixture of a quality. 2 v.t. give flavour to,
season.
Flavour is the defining characteristic
in most food products. It’s what gives a product
uniqueness, quality and consumer appeal.
At HWL, providing flavour is a large part of our business.
As a food ingredients company, we think of a flavour as
a selected sensation that is provided by both volatile
and non-volatile compounds that need to be present in the
food in a stable form.
Through a special supply partnership
with Symrise, one of the world’s leading flavour producers, HWL is
working closely with local food manufacturers, advising
on flavours and tailoring each ingredient to a customer’s
product development or improvement.
Symrise flavours are categorised in three areas of expertise;
· Sweet: including confectionery, bakery, dairy products
and ice-creams
· Savoury: including culinary flavourings and snack food
· Beverages: flavourings for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic
beverages
