Jost Chemical is based in
St Louis, Missouri. The company was founded in 1985 by Jerry
Jost who has a chemical engineering background and is today
well supported by an impressive team of chemists.
Jost Chemical manufactures a wide range of specialty minerals,
including calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc salts. Although most
of Hawkins Watts New Zealand’s dealings with Jost are for minerals for nutritional
applications, Jost also manufactures various products for industries
such as electronics and the automotive industry.
All
food and pharmaceutical products are manufactured under demanding
cGMP requirements, and Jost are regularly audited by organisations
such as the US FDA.
The quality is outstanding. As an example, Jost
are able to supply products such as Calcium Citrate with exceptionally
low vagrant metal levels, especially Aluminium and Lead. Parameters
such as these are not normally listed in specifications such as
FCC,
but are absolutely critcal in the manufacture of specialty products
such as infant formula.
