FMC BIOPOLYMER
FMC
BioPolymer (FMC) is the largest and most experienced global
producer of
carrageenan,
alginate and microcrystalline cellulose.
FMC’s Research and Development is based at their superb facility in Princeton,
New Jersey.
In New Zealand, HWL works closely with FMC’s
technical sales team in Sydney and Shanghai, but sources products
from any of FMC’s
production facilities in the USA, Philippines and Norway.
For more than 60 years, FMC has established
a tradition for providing consistent, high quality carrageenan,
supported by exceptional technical expertise and service. FMC
builds quality and performance into its carrageenan products
at three levels—seaweed sourcing, extract manufacturing, and
understanding and tailoring the functional properties of each
product.
In 1998, FMC purchased the Pro-Nova alginate
company in Norway and has subsequently integrated the alginate
range into the FMC portfolio.
Perhaps the most unique product FMC offer is their colloidal
MCC. This works well as a stabiliser and fat replacer, especially in beverage and sauce applications.
FMC BioPolymer is a great company
to work with. HWL personnel conduct regular, high level technical
discussions with FMC and are kept informed of the latest stabiliser
technology and ingredient applications.
