Based in beautiful Kona,
Hawaii, Cyanotech has pioneered the use of microalgae technology
to produce natural functional nutrients, including Hawaiian
Spirulina Pacifica®.
Cyanotech
operates at a unique, 90-acre facility using patented technology
where microalgae, including spirulina, is cultured in shallow,
open ponds (approximately 20 cm deep) adjacent to the Pacific
Ocean. The combination of fresh water and supplemental, deep
ocean water is used to fill the ponds.
Given the availability of natural
resources such as a warm climate, geothermal (volcanic) energy
and pacific seawater, Hawaiian
Spirulina Pacifica® has very low heavy metals and is
well suited to health food applications.
Cyanotech material is widely acknowledged
as the best quality Spirulina available globally. In March
2009 Cyanotech published the results of nutritional comparison
testing of Hawaiian Spirulina Pacifica®.

Hawaiian Spirulina Pacifica® has
been shown to be a good source of Vitamin K2, providing 15
mcg or 19% of the Daily Recommended Value in a 3 g serving.
Vitamin K2 has been linked to blood health and may have an
effect on alleviating osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases.
Cyanotech Corporation also produces BioAstin® Natural
Astaxanthin for food applications and NatuRose® Natural
Astaxanthin for animal feed, especially in aquaculture. |
