Nexira Food
was formed from the merging of CNI with Bio Serae, and its
Acacia Gum operation is based in Rouen, France.
Nexira Food is the world’s largest supplier and processor of Gum Acacia, having
pioneered and perfected the sourcing, processing and spray drying of Gum Acacia
over its 100 year history.
Through a century of building relationships
in Africa, Nexira Food has developed a robust sourcing
program and is able to select the best gum and ensure continuity
of supply. As part of its corporate sponsorship program Nexira Food assists
African communities through reforestation projects and drilling
bores to provide potable water.
The crude Gum Acacia is shipped to
France and processed in the Serqueux factory where it is standardised,
purified, pasteurised and spray dried. Nexira Food pays particular
attention to the processing parameters for each batch. The Serqueux
site
is ISO 9000:2000 certified and has a full HACCP based food safety
program in place.
From
the base raw material Nexira Food offers a full
range of Gum
Acacia products. Through their application laboratories Nexira
Food hasve
built up a strong knowledge base involving confectionery, bakery,
flavour oil emulsions and extrusion applications.
The Fibregum range - a minimum content of 90% soluble fibre
-
has
allowed Nexira Food to pioneer several new applications for high fibre
products, as well as co-processing acacia gum with other ingredients such as
fructo-oligo-saccharides (“Floracia”) to provide
synergistic benefits or with wheat insoluble fibre (“Equacia”)
which is a unique combination of soluble (acacia gum) and insoluble (wheat, gluten-free)
fibers that mimics the rheological properties of fat, while enhancing the freshness
of different foodstuffs. |
