ADM Cocoa, as a processor and manufacturer,
is heavily involved in several programmes that assist
growers with funding and education with the aim of improving
the grower’s operations and standard of living.
In 2005 ADM Cocoa launched SERAP, Socially & Environmentally
Responsible Agriculture Programme, which rewards West African cooperatives
committed to implementing sustainable environmental practices.
In 2006 ADM joined with NGO’s and other firms to launch UPCOCOA,
a group working through cooperatives to improve farmers business operations
from crop marketing and land management to product quality and productivity.
ADM have several other programs in cocoa growing regions to help achieve
sustainability for all stakeholders through socially responsible business
practices.
