With over 200 processing
plants worldwide, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is one of the
largest food ingredient manufacturers and one of Hawkins Watts'
key supply partners.
ADM’s extensive ingredient range is processed
from four main crops:
Cocoa
Corn
Soy
and wheat.
Hawkins Watts New Zealand has been working alongside ADM since
1990 providing our clients with a full range of premium ingredients,
from simple requirements like fructose through
to highly-functional nutraceuticals such as phytosterols
and speciality fats. Hawkins Watts New Zealand represents all aspects of the ADM
product range with the exception of soy proteins.
ADM describes itself as a ‘vertically
integrated agro-processor’. This means working closely
with farmers, often through contract farming, helping with
harvesting and quality assurance and converting the basic
agricultural crops into a range of almost 1000 ingredients.
ADM then manages the transportation of required products
to partners such as Hawkins Watts New Zealand.
ADM also operates comprehensive research
and development facilities and will actively assist Hawkins Watts New Zealand in
product conception and product development.
FERMENTATION TECHNOLOGY
Through
the use of a various raw materials and a focus process development
program, ADM has pioneered several fermentation-derived products
including citrates, lactates, Sorbitol, and Xanthan
Gum.
